The Qur’an and the Character of the Believer

Quran & Sunnah-the way of life

1 min read

Assalamu Alikum wa RahmatuAllah,

Allah (ﷻ) has blessed us with Islam and guided us with the Qur'an. The Qur'an is a mercy from Allah (ﷻ) that helps us navigate this world and guides us in living lives that please Him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) showed us how the teachings of the Qur’an should be put into practice. For this reason, when the companion Qatadah (رضي الله عنه) asked the mother of believers, Aisha (رضي الله عنها), about the character of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), she responded:

"Have you not read the Qur’an?"

Qatadah said, "Of course."

Aisha then explained, "Verily, the character of the Prophet of Allah was the Qur'an." [Sahih Muslim]

This hadith highlights the profound connection between the Qur'an and the character of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). It serves as a reminder that the Qur'an should not only be recited for rewards but also reflected upon and put it into action.
